Confidentiality


There are a number of reasons why we might need to keep information on children and their families. These are:
• Your registration forms.
• To meet the needs of children in our care it is important to share information with the child’s family.
• Child assessment and service plan, including Common Assessment Framework Forms
• We have a duty under the 1989 Children Act to inform the statutory services where we feel a child may at risk of significant harm and in need of a protection plan.
• e-Start and any other local authority databases.
Any information about you and your family held by The Wedding Créchers will be kept confidential and in a safe place in accordance with the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998. Every member of our staff has an awareness of data protection legislation so that they can assist management in ensuring correct procedures are followed.
All data subjects are informed as to who is to use the data and for what purpose and you have the right to know what information is held about you. It might be necessary in some circumstances for the The Wedding Créchers to seek help from other professionals and it might be necessary to share some of the information that we have about you or your child. Whatever the reason, we will always keep you informed and your consent will always be sought before we share any information, unless there is an extreme concern of a child protection nature.
Our staff are available to discuss personal and private issues with parent/carers at any time and confidentiality will be respected at all times unless there are child protection concerns.
